My house smells just like the zoo,
It’s chock full of shit and puke!
Cockroaches on the walls
Crabs crawlin’ on my balls!
Ohh, but I’m so clean cut,
I just wanna fuck some sluts!
I love livin’ in the city [x2]
Spent my whole life in the city,
Where junk is king and the air smells shitty.
People pukin’ everywhere.
Piles of blood, scabs and hair.
Bodies wasted in the street,
People dyin’ on the street,
But the suburban scumbags, they don’t care,
Just get fat and dye their hair!
I love livin’ in the city [x2]
I finally got this 7″ of FEAR’s first ever release, contains “now your dead” backed with “i love living in the city”. I have seen this one go for over $600USD on ebay…ouch! Its seems strange that side ‘a’ has “now your dead” while side ‘b’ conatins “i love living in the city”…i guess they thought “now your dead” was going to be the so called ‘hit’, meanwhile “i love living in the city” turned out to be the so called ‘hit’. Very unintresting cover white with FEAR in black on front, cover art seems to be with the times. This was released on Toxic Tunes 1978, check it out…

This single and the Paradise Studio Demos are the best recordings they ever did (in my opinion of course). The Record and the later crap they did never lived up to their early promise.
hey scott…id have to agree with you, The Record had a couple GOOD tracks and anything after The Record was complete garbage. thanks for stopping by and for the link.
Just this Saturday I gave my copy of this single to a friend so he could sell it to meet expenses. What a world.
I’ve never even heard these versions before…and I’m old as shit. Great job. Thanks.
I haev to stick up for the Record, and even a little for the 2nd LP “More Beer.” I’m probably younger than you guys (31 yrs old) but when I heard both they blew my mind since I wasn’t privvy to anything earlier. And years later they still hold up against most other stuff that’s popular today. Anyway, great blog, I’m totally hooked on this thing now. Thanks dude!
i agree with the later stuff not holding up to the promise of the early demos, but id like to add that i feel the Dicks picked up on where the early Fear demos left off. Definitely check them out if you are looking for something to fill that void.
that being said, i still like fears later period stuff just in a different way.
For some reason the left channel cuts out with iTunes, but not when I play it in my browser. Anyone have any idea how I can fix this?
