My friend from Holland told me, that Neopunkz - was quite cool band and he even visited some of their shows and he told, that this release is the only one.

well i like it…so thanx.

nice band, after they made this 7inch they changed their name to “suspense” who made another 7 inch the following year.

Neo-Punkz were a 5-piece Dutch band from Haarlem. They released 2 EPs before changing their name to Suspense. The “Murder With The Axe” EP is also supposed to be the 1st Suspense EP. The insert carry the statement “the end of Neo-Punkz - this is Suspense”

punk is still alive. I’m 47 years old now and I was one of the guys that inspired these neo-punkies, even game ‘m guitar lessons. In fact, they were the young ones, still living at home, and they wanted to become real punks. A Dutch word for not real is ‘nep’, so in the beginning they were called ‘nep’-punks. But they grew up, and became the neo-punkz :D
Years later, in the mid 80’s, pogo was gone for a while and as a punk-rock-new wave DJ I pushed the gogo to the dance floors. Guess what, one of the neo-punk guys started the succesful Haarlem based gogo-band called Gotcha! Haarlem is and was alive.
From my bands, I still have the tapes, as a statement we did not want to make any records. Like to know some more, let me know.
