The Clash - White Riot (CBS) ‘77
Released 18th March, 1977, Chart peak no. 38. Two great tracks from one of thee greatest bands to exsist ( if not the greatest of all time). I included all the single PS for you to eye over…Whats your favorite cover? Mines the Italian one. Ok so what more can you say about the Clash…if you dont know you never will. Turn it up!

The UK Cover is an all-time classic. The artwork on the Italian is also the sleeve for “Complete Control.” Thanks for all the PS artwork, I’ve been a Clash fan for years and it’s really cool to see the other issues.

Mr. Hockey got to see the boys at their first North American tour stop right here in Dope City. The darling Dishrags and ol’ rocker Bo Diddley were there to set up the rock show - both were brilliant. I recall Mick Jones picking out the bird he was going to fuck later out of the audience; Strummer spraying anybody in the crowd with gob within 50 feet of him through his broken teeth; the Ballroom’s floor getting one of its best workouts; and it being a little loud.
Fuck of a first single. Elvis and Strummer may be goners; the Beatles halfway gone; the Rolling Stones go on and on - who’d've thunk it in 1977?
I’m sorry but The Clash are one of the few “punk” bands I cannot stand. Too melodic, too many reggae and dub songs. Forget the Clash download any other of the excellent punk bands on this website instead.

The U.K. cover was designed by Sebastian Conran brother of Jasper i’m sure you’ve heard of them. As a result a design classic in it’s own right. The rest are shite and as stated the Italian cover is complete control. The German one I think has an almost SS look to it which i aint to keen about. No U.S. release & you had the Second album first and the first fucked about with in the states as well & still they broke. Love the site.
I was hoping white riot was the version from the UK release of the first album. This version has all the sharp edges rounded off.
