Great band from Perth, Australia features Dave Faulkner who went on to form the Hoodoo Gurus. Two killer tracks here, strange how almost 30 years after Television Addict (now covered by the Hellacopters) was written we can still relate to the words one way or another. Seems the TV is the root of all evil, so turn off the TV and crank up the Victims.

Tracklisting
television addict
i’m flipped out over you

I first heard “Televsion Addict” about 20 years ago on an obscure Australian compilation called “It Happened But Nobody Noticed.” Since that day I’ve considered it to be one of the best punk songs of all time.
ted
hey ted i couldnt agree more…very underrated punk classic! thanks for dropping by.
Good stuff!
Also heard this band first on the “It happened but nobody noticed… Australian underground 1976 - 1981″ compilation?!
Australia have always had kick-ass rock n´roll bands from Radio birdman, Rose tattoo to Hard-ons,Hoodoo gurus or New christs.
If I turn off my TV how am I supposed to watch my favorite shows?!
haha…never thought of it that way, good point.
One the best 7″ to come outta Australian(and there a lot of “bests” there).Anybody into this
and more of what down under has to offer, check out MURDER PUNK vol.1 & 2 CDs.They petty much contain all the essential 7″s from this era(77-82)
Yeah, this is right up there with the very best of early Aussie Punk - Birdman, Saints, Fun Things, and SurlyOldPunk hits it right on the head… check out the 2 Murder Punk compilations. I’ve been listening to Oz Punk for something like 25 years, and there’s some killer music from down under for sure…
This track is an absolute classic. One of THE best punk tracks of alltime. You should check out a comp called “Do the Pop” loadsa cool oz punk on there too

[…] This single was posted on 7 Inch Punk a few weeks ago and I haven’t been able to stop listening to it since. This song reminds me a lot of Detention’s “Dead Rock N Rollers” (from Killed by Death #2, my favorite KBD comp). I’m not sure what it is about them that’s similar—maybe it’s the fact that the vocalists seem to be talking in this really pissed off, snotty voice rather than actually singing—but I just love it. It sounds a bit like beat poetry being read over a sick-ass Funhouse outtake or something. Here is a link to the original post so you can get a taste of this slice of KBD brilliance. […]
No wonder this is so revered in collector scum circles! Just 2 brilliant tracks with the requisite snot/attitude and the killer tunes to back it up! World class stuff! Viva la punk rock!!!
