Patriots - Land Of The Free (Another Lousy Record) ‘83

Strange Reaction (Sorry Scott dont mean to dupe your post) posted this single back in May 2005 but didnt include the front cover, so here we have the very ugly cover of this amazing hardcore ep. Read more on Patriots at Strange Reaction. This single kinda reminds me of the Fix meet MDC…wrong or right?

Tracklisting

This is a great single, sadly overlooked in FLEX discography. Owned the vinyl many years ago, thanks for the post. It finds it’s way onto the shelf again.

It really does sound like MDC!

Sweet Jesus, I can’t believe this is here. I’d begun to think this record was merely a dream, no one seems to know of it. The only reason I know of it is because a friend had it back in the early 80s and he loved it. Pretty sure the blonde guy in Suburbia who went on to be in Platoon was the bassist in this band. In Suburbia, his car had a Patriots logo spray painted on it.

I kinda hear the MDC influence, but I think there’s a stronger Britpunk thing going on. Yeah, this is some good stuff for sure.

I sang for Patriots on this EP.It is amazing how people still get a hold of it and have something to say about the songs. Do let me know if you are interested in the bands history and the LA Punk glory days.

This has got to be one of my favorite EPs ever! I had a copy of a copy on a tape. I passed it on to everyone I knew. Never could figure out where the band was from-not California as we knew it in DC! Juan-you guys kicked ass!!!

I still have a bunch of these EPs, brand new. I wonder if there are any fans out there interested in getting a copy. We were a Los Angeles band. Chris Pedersen of Platoon fame formed the band, John Press on drums, Stuart Bjornlie on bass, Chris on lead guitar and vocals and I screaming. We rehearsed In John`s garage in Santa Monica and played a few memorable shows all over. Flipside 42 covered a gig at the Cathay de Grande and I am sure a few people have things to say about our existence.
