BANNLYST-La Dem Ikke Lure Deg (X-port Plater x002) 1984

Other than the fact that this band was from Molde, Norway and they put this 7″ , a split tape with ANGOR WAT and made a few comp appearances, I know absolutely nothing about them.

First heard these guys (just like alot of foreign bands) on MAXIMUM ROCK AND ROLL radio in the mid 80’s. I managed to track down a copy of the split cassette w/angor wat soon after but, realized those weren’t the same songs I ‘d heard on mrr radio. The tape is good (14 songs recorded in their rehearsal space) but nowhere near as godly as the 7″. I finally traded for a copy of it a few years later and it has been my favorite norsk record (‘cept maybe BURZUM ha ha!!) ever since.

As usual, if anybody can fill in any history or what not about this awesome band, please feel free……….

  1. i would have to say that the BARN AV REGNBUEN flexi is the best Norwegian record ever, but this is right up there with it.GREAT STUFF!!

all i know about this band, is some ex-members joined with some other ex-members of SVART FRAMTID to start SO MUCH HATE around 1986.also, at least 1 member was involved with the label X-Port Platter. other than that, i dunno…

  2. The singer, bassplayer and guitarist from Bannlyst later started So Much Hate, together with Gunnar, the singer from ‘Svart Framtid’/’Kafka Prosess’ (the bannlyst-singer playing drums(!) in So Much Hate)
Later the bassplayer and the drummer joined ex-members of ‘Life, But How To Live It?’/’Barn Av Regnbuen’, to start ‘Drunk’.
The guitar-player also joined ‘Stengte Dorer’ and later started ‘Captain Not Responsible’.
The bannlyst drummer joined ‘Kafka Prosess’, ‘Race Against Time’, and is currently playing in ‘Insanity Prevails’.
    Puhhh…

  3. What about psykisk terror? Whats their story? Members discog? I’ve only heard one song but I know there’s one on som german comp on AA records (or was it double A records?)

  4. I’M THE ONE WHO DREW THE COVER OF THIS RECORD,THE FRONT HAS THE SHAPE OF MY HAND.THE GUYS IN BANNLYST WERE MY FRIENDS,TRUE MOLDE PUNX,I HAVE’NT SEEN THEM IN YEARS,MOST OF THEM ARE LOCATED IN OSLO I THINK.I HOPE THIS RECORD AND IT’S MESSAGE WILL GO ON FOREVER. BJØRN TORE WISNES

  5. there is a tape called “then the molde punx go marching out” with bands like ;piggtraad, skabb, haugens trio, styggeføt(pre bannlyst),psykisk terror and bannlyst. Also there is a demo from 1983(with first vocalist),also I have a consert from UFFA house in trondheim in 1992.Bannlyst is also on the comp ep Nå eller aldri”(now or never)together with ;psykisk terror, angor wat, akutt innleggelse,sdh+1….

  6. palmetadon said:”Also there is a demo from 1983(with first vocalist)” Actually Bannlyst had the same singer from the beginning to the end. Also the so called 83-demo is just a recording done with a getto blaster in during rehersal.I know this because i was the singer of Bannlyst.

  7. ok,this info was given to me by kenneth in data morgana and since noone of us was the singer in Bannlyst I guess youre right!!!Did you also sing in styggeføt???can you get me a better copy of then the molde punx,,tape?

  8. Per Arne who played bass in Bannlyst, was the singer in stygge føt.Im sorry but i dont have the molde punx tape anymore, lost about 20 years ago. I can ask if Per Arne has it.
