Theres A Method To Our Madness Comp. (Phantom Records test pressing) 1986

Here we have a great mid 80’s comp from the Phantom Records guy Wally outta South Carolina/Alaska, anyone know what happened to this guy? This rip is form the test press that has been beaten up throughout the years by me, so sorry for some of the pops. Also you wont find the PTL Klubs track featured on this site due to legal action that could/would be inflicted onto me. This comp is a real good indication of the times, totally dated material that would only fit right into the mid 80’s, those where the days. Some of the worst music came out during that period of punk/hardcore/skatecore/metalcore/crossover/thrash/hightops and bermuda shorts. But most of us survived it, so for now put on your old hightops/bermuda shorts and peel the lid back on your cap and dip into some of the lost punk/hardcore/skatecore/metalcore/crossover/thrash of that era.

The cover art was done by RK Sloane who passed away Oct. 20 2006.

I bought this when it came out and didn’t like it much so I sold it quickly after taping only two tracks from it (the burnt / sloopy seconds)

Sloppy Seconds were the best band on this. I bought everything by them after hearing this one track by them. I’m pretty sure it was their 1st vinyl offering

I remember getting a leaflet with Wally’s record collection he sold back in the late 80’s. Seems that his house suffered from an earthquake or so. I know he was the singer for Fear Itself.
This album was also released in Europe on We Bite Records.

627, You wont find any PTL Klub on this site due to legal backlash it caused me, please read the post before you download.
Pedigree Scum, I would have to agree about only listening to a few tracks on this lp. but when I listen to it now, I think I enjoy it more.
Leffe, To bad for Wally’s house but when you live in the south you should expect bad weather to hit you a few times in your life. And yeah Wally was the singer for Fear Itself.

Hey, now! I thought this was 7 Inch Punk… What’s with the LP? Phantom Records was supposed to do the “Attack Is Now Suicide” compilation LP, too. But Wally’s house in Alaska was damaged by an earthquake and he passed off the project to Double A Records in Germany. I think there was a German pressing of “There’s A Method…,” also, if I remember correctly.

Anyone know if Wally had anything to do with the zine WARNING from Alaska?

Thanks,
Bob Suren

I saw this one in my collection of dusty things and thought what the hell might as well post it. I used to trade with Wally back in the mid 80’s he was always fair to me, and we seemed to just get along well. I was even one of the lucky ones to get this test press from him before the release date. Sorry Bob I know nothing about Wally working on the Warning Zine. I lost all contact with him when he moved to Alaska.

I was a good friend of Wally’s and helped him put this and other cassette comp’s together as well as the ‘zine “Blocked Head”. I lost touch when I moved to ID and he moved to AK. If anyone knows his whereabouts or PIerre (Baltimore area) please let me know. I know his origin is from Camden Conneticut area. johnamcculley@gmail.com
