W.T.G. - Don’t They (Papa Whopper Records) 1987
St. Louis band “Whoppers Taste Good” (or W.T.G.) put out their FC/BM (food-core/beer-metal) EP “Don’t They?” in 1987. The music’s a bit sludgy with some heavy metal riffs and there are some goofy lyrics to go along with it. Their second record, “Haunting White Castle”, came out in 1988. One of the band members put out a zine titled “Motion Sickness”.

Neuroosi - Rock Against Seija Isonsaari / Suutarinemännän kehtolaulu 7″ (Safety, NEUROOSI-01) 1979
Neuroosi* 7″ is maybe rarest Finnish punk record there is. It isn´t usually found in record catalogues, because it isn’t “officially” released at all. Only 10 test pressing copies exist (supposedly). Only A -side of the single is their own composition, b -side is a traditional Finnish song. The band was from Suomussalmi and as usually - this is their only release. Year was 1979.
Artists this time:
Osmo Räihälä (voc)
Pasi Keränen (solo guitar)
Mikko Keränen (guitar)
Pertti Teeriniemi (bass)
Olli Löytynoja (drums)
Tracks
Rock against Seija Isonsaari
Suutarinemannan Kehtolaulu
*Neuroosi is sometimes titled as Dolorex, reason unknown.

T.S.O.L. - T.S.O.L. (Poshboy Records) 1981
Sweet…this record brings back such great memories of the old days when you spin it it just make you feel all warm and fuzzy on the inside. One of the greats from back in the day as far as true California hardcore goes. When I hear this record still to this day it makes me think of hanging with old friends and just not worring about sweet fa. ‘Dance With Me’ is another worthy recording by TSOL…and dont forget Slayer covered a couple of tracks off this 12inch EP…Trun it up!

4 Walls Falling – Burn It / Happy Face 7” (Redemption Records # 03) 1992
Four Walls Falling was an American political hardcore band from Richmond, Virginia from members of Unseen Force and Pledge Allegiance. Known as one of the greatest hardcore bands from the Richmond scene, the band had major success in the hardcore community, recording four 7-inches & an EP. They played their first show with 7 Seconds and Justice League in 1987 and toured the United States in 1992. The band broke up in 1994.
This is a nice record. The band was known to be a straight edge band but instead of copying the classic style of youth crew HC they developed their very own style of of this genre with lyrics that clearly show that they were interested in more than the so-called scene with always the same talking about unity and stuff.

Sa-int was formed in city of Lahti in the middle of the ’80s, in 1984 to be exact. The band made four 7″’s as Sa-int and two LP’s after chancing it’s name to Insaint.
Sa-int means Finnish military system but here it is just a name for the band. Over the years a lot of people have been playing within the ranks, but two core members have remained from the very beginnings: the drummer, Kuju and the bassplayer, Malja - who has nowadays promoted himself to handle the vocals.
Line-up in 2007 is Malja - vocals, Kuju - drums, Ari - bass and Juha - guitar
Line-ups during these four recordings above:
First seven incher: Reuman - vocals, Mini - gtr, Malja - bass, Kuju - drums, Ese - gtr

Adrenalin O.D. - A Nice Song in the Key of D (Buy Our Records) 1986
Starting out in 1983 with an EP of fast hardcore (the excellent and highly sought after “Let’s Barbecue”, I always preferred mid-period Adrenalin O.D. This single was released to promote the excellent “Humungousfungusamongus” LP and it includes an alternate mix of the a-side, and an instrumental flip. The album has been reissued on CD with 6 bonus tracks, so head to Amazon or wherever you shop if you’re missing out.

Backslide -s/t 7” (Backslide) 1994
A nice record from Germany. This record is produced in the good ol’ D.I.Y.-tradition. The sound and production is nothing revolutionary but I always liked it for some reason. Old school hardcore in the American tradition. Nice artwork and the record is in white vinyl.

Trial - Trial 7″ (1983)
Trial were a San Francisco band who released just one single and one album during their brief life. While I’ve never been able to locate the full-length (which I’m told came out in 1986), this single stands out to me due to its slow pace and political musings that were more at home on a UK bands record at that time. Even their sloganeering and single insert are far more Crass than anything else. The hardcore fanatic probably won’t like it much (it really is a bit slow), but if you ever venture into peace punk territory give it a listen.

Flower Leperds - S/T EP (Mystic Records) 1985
Another one of the Mystic/Nardcore class. The Flower Leperds avoided the typical metal-hardcore sound of the day. Choosing a gloomy mid-tempo pace with a mix of goth and rock influences.
