INZEST-Another religion…..Another violence flexi (Self released)1987
One-sided flexi from these Kansai(?), Japan thrashers. Taking cues from S.O.B. and OUTO amongst others, these guys played at hyper speed, had a possessed as hell singer and had a slightly metallic sound. Not much is known about this band as this was their only release in their all too brief exsistence. Any other info would be welcomed.

LANCE LOT-Eat the dream flexi (Stomping Records) 1987
Another completely raging flexi from a virtually unknown Japanese band.
I happened across this while tape trading with a friend in Japan and got a clean cassette copy of it.
I know almost nothing about the band and besides an apperance on the “Hardcore Showcase” lp (2 songs-Stomping recs 1989), I’m pretty sure they didn’t release anything else. The sound quality of my upload is a bit rough cuz it’s from the aforementioned cassette tape, but hell, it’s a 20 plus year old flexi anyhow………enjoy!!!
If you’d like a copy of this flexi, try HERE

DEADLESS MUSS - Rise Against 8″ flexi (d.i.s. - 001) ‘84
First deadless muss release and ‘dirty informal section’ records starting point. Kinda hard to describe their sound (you’ll defintely hear some ‘melody’ in the chorus lines but mind you, it’s nothing cheesy…). I’d define it as raw & abrasive hc,punk.
After this one, they’ve given us more hard hitting hardcore too chew on (the 2nd being the ‘I will…7″ which marked the end/or starting point if you will, from which they changed their sound. Just listen to the ‘860 seconds cooking’ 7″ or ‘5 years imprisonment’ lp and you’ll know what I mean,
enjoy!

ZOUO - The Final Agony (AA Records 002 / Japan) ‘83
here you go…sorta by request!!
this ep was the 2nd release on the totally legendary AA label, which was originally run by members of LAUGHIN’NOSE (they eventually GAVE the label to members of COCKNEY COCKS a few years later, but thats a totally different story). Not only is this one of the hardest to find records of all of HC PUNK, it has a huge, CRASS-Type poster-sleeve filled with clips/graphics from splatter/horror movies. enough of the graphics…heres the sound!!
…there must have been SOMETHING in the water/air of Japan circa~1983…GISM was blowing peoples faces off, GHOUL was threatening everyone in their path, and ZOUO was perfecting a style of violently macabre HC THRASH that was NOT to be unnoticed.this ep boils with an “evil” sound that was unmatched at the time of its release. a quick look at the SPLATTER FILLED poster sleeve would think it was all just a “horror-show” joke. eventually, this band changed their name to DANSE MACABRE & fully exposed their satanic/occultist views.regardless of “spiritual” leanings, THIS RECORD DESTROYS LIVING HELL and is an ESSENTIAL part of ANY world HC collection, regardless of region!!
ok, now some random “facts” about this band/record…Vocalist CHERRY is the older brother of OUTO / BUTTERFLY Vocalist BUTCHER…this ep is supposedly only 500 copies, but ive never had confirmation on that…ok,whatever…

Janky - Flexi 7″ ‘86
My first post! I hope I didn’t fuck up! This is one of those 7″s I worship but sadly I know very little about the band. By posting this not only will people find out about the band but hopefully I will be able to learn something new about them. This excellent release reminds me much of Lip Cream and Outo records; perhaps some band that would fit right in with the Thrash Til Death compilation. Oh yea, I guess they have a split with the mighty Mad Conflux, but I haven’t heard that one yet.

BLAZE - But Nothing Ever Change 7″ (sakuragi 01) ‘92
BLAZE :talking about an appropriate name. Shit, whether you’re into their music or not, you’ve gotta admit they certainly BLAZE! Okay, my technical skills as a musician don’t go any further then some basic knowledge regarding the ‘flying V air guitar’ but hell, you don’t have to be a virtuoso to fully appreciate the killdozer energy these guys produced (just listen to those drums…).
Keep your eyes open for anything else they released (not that much I’m afraid..I sincerely hope I’m dead wrong about this).
This 7″ tends to be quite rare these days but it should be (really) easy to find yourself a “damn the control” comp. 7″ (released in ‘97, has 1 BLAZE track + features CHAOS CHANNEL, CONCLUDE & more).
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED as well : the ‘fight back vol. 1′ comp. cd (on the superb ‘fight men record label, 1993). BLAZE appears with 2 tracks here but the fun doesn’t end yet (GUILLOTINE TERROR , DISORDER, BUG-EYED, ZONE, etc…a must have comp.!!)

SO WHAT - Injustice 8″ flexi (d.i.s. - 002) ‘85
So here it is as promised before, SO WHAT’s first output, the INJUSTICE 8″. Total pressing of 350 copies on Dirty Informal Section records, a short lived record label, but every release they did sure as hell was a mandatory one ( e.g. deadless muss “rise against 8″, deadless muss 2nd release “I will…7″, Innocentes 7″, the rustler 7″,..).
This 8″ has been bootlegged only once (as far as I know) on the ‘You Can Set The Dove Free, But What About The Hawk”. If you don’t have it already be sure to pick it up whenever you can ’cause this record holds 3 more 7″s which are easily considered as Japan’s finest.More specific : The Sexual “the last days” 7″flexi, Jyuden Souchi “deadline” 7″flexi & Crow “who killed dove?” 7″ (complete with art work).

BRAIN GENOCIDE / P.P.S.H. - Split ep (Consensus Reality) ‘96
Mystery 7″. Big Brother Internet ain’t givin’ up nuthin’, so here’s what I got:
Rumor #1: this record (both bands) was actually played and recorded by one guy in the mid ’90’s.
Rumor #2: the guy is a member of a prominent Japanese hardcore band.
Rumor #3: he recorded it on a 4-track in the bathroom at Tribal War Records HQ.
Rumor #4: there is no drummer, it’s a programmed drum machine.
Rumor #5: a full-length tape of these sessions exists.
Now for the facts:
Fact #1: PPSh-41 is a WWII Soviet-built submachine gun (similar sonically to the drums here).
Fact #2: this is probably the best goddamn hardcore record in the past 15 years!

DISCLOSE - Visions of War 7″ (Distortion Records) ‘96
Disclose is a Japanese hardcore punk band, heavily influenced by Discharge. Disclose use the infamous d-beat drumming style. The sound heavily replicates Discharge’s style, with an increased use of fuzz and distortion guitar effects. The subject matter is also similar to Discharge, in that the songs’ themes are primarily about nuclear war, and its horrific consequences. Members & former members include: Kawakami (vocals & lead guitar), Tsukasa (vocals), Fukugawa (bass guitar), Yasuoka (bass guitar), Yousei (bass guitar), Hiro (drums), Fujiwara (drums), Uo-Katou (drums), Aki (drums) & Naoto.
