Anti-Cimex - Raped Ass (A Records) ‘83
Quite the D-Beat classic, according to most people. Not too familiar with the genre, but I can say that this is pretty damn good. Can’t take credit for the rip, as I got the mp3s from a guy who, in turn, got them in an mp3 trade or some sort of similar deal.
Tracklisting
Anti-Cimex - When the Innocent Die
Anti-Cimex - War Machine
Anti-Cimex - Total Silence
Anti-Cimex - Cries of Pain
Anti-Cimex - Raped Ass

like alot of hardcore, anti-cimex peaked early and gradually got slow and boring. this is one of the best of the style, i listen to this more than discharge. distortion records released a cd with victims of a bomb raid ep and raped ass ep, highly recommended. does anyone have thier anarkist attack ep?
Yeah, I guess I agree. I still like listening to their “Absolut Country of Sweden” LP but it’s not really all that energetic.
Also, if there’s interest (I’ll be a bit busy over the next few days) I’ll try and put up their Victims of a Bomb Raid EP too.
This “Raped ass” 7″ is probably the best in the style along with the SKITLICKERS 7″ that has just been posted on another Blog.
Be sure to post their “Victim of a bomb raid” 7″ as well. It’s still very enjoyable.
These guys were Discharge worshippers in catching the sound perfectly maybe second only to some Japanese bands, who copied it so exactly you’d think you were listening to Discharge. Where they beat the Jap bands is that they got the sound copied only a couple of months after the Discharge Clay singles came out.
Good points. Also they added their own SKITLICKERS origin and made more than one classic single. Besides this and the “Victims of a bombraid” EP, they got great stuff on several comps. such as “Really Fast Vol.1″. The “Anarkist Attack” pre-demos kills! and that EP is worth checking out too. Also worth checking is the later (’92) “fuc*ed in finland” EP. Anti-Cimex is one of the swedish hardcore pioners along with Headcleaners/Huvudtvatt and Mob 47.
yes the Really Fast volumes are great. Bob at Sound Idea rereleased 1-3 on CD a few years back. He was good enough to give me his last copy.
Avskum were on #3. They formed in 1982 and got back together and recorded some more stuff this century!
Back to Anti-Cimex I do have copies of eps I taped from friends, but the only vinyl I have by them is a 12″ on Distraught records from 1986.
Cool posting of essential Anti-Cimex. I finally found the CD. Do you happen to have the “Fucked in Finland” tracks? I can’t seem to find this anywhere.
Yeah, I can try to post “FIF” after I ripped the vinyl. Hopefully you’ll find it on here during the next few days.
Hey Pogel, as with the early singles, the Criminal Trap 12″ is quite rare these days. Seen it sold on ebay for ridicilous lotsa $.
I have a rip of that “Ciminal Trap” 12″, but then again this site is for 7″s.. maybe 12inchpunk once it’s up and running?
I’ll try to get “Victims of a Bombraid” up soon, stay tuned.
Swedish Scum & others
I bought the Criminal Trap 12″ new in 1986 at which time I was living in England. My collection is a little different from people over here. Even some of the same records have different covers or different tracks. At the time I didn’t have much money so would buy the UK versions rather than the more expensive US imports. Now I’m finding the UK ones more appealing to friends here. As for value they are not worth a penny as even my wife says she won’t sell them even if I died!
Love the site and love Anti-Cimex. One question - What’s D-Beat?
D-beat is a drum beat, specifically a fast rock beat unique to Hardcore Punk, especially in its UK and European variants. Its name is derived from UK band Discharge. Early Scandinavian D-beat bands, such as Anti-cimex, are associated with very noisy and distorted guitar and have a very maxed out sound.
Never had much European hardcore back in the 80’s. Really cool to hear some new tunes (new to my ears). The Swedes, Finns and Italians were simply brutal. Thanks for the posts of awesome hardcore from across the ocean.
hey- my copy of this, i got from HC HORROR thru an MRR ad in the late 1980’s & has a slightly different cover & clear vinyl. anybody know the deal with that??
Please don’t lump Shit Lickers and Anti-Cimex together, they only shared one member : Jonsson playing the bass for both bands and then switching to vocals only for Anti-Cimex. I actually saw the two bands share a bill (along with others) back in 1982 (when Shit Lickers were simply called Skitslickers, their Swedish name) and there were definitely no connections between them at the time except for friendship (if that’s the proper term for it).
thezeroboy: please e-mail me at gameofthearseholes AT earthlink.net
I want to talk to you about your experience seeing these bands for my fanzine.
