Formed in Gothenburg 1981 and named after the largest scandinavian exterminator company. First here is their third 7″ Ep “Victims Of A Bomb Raid” released in 1984. Back then this EP was hailed in Maximum Rock N Roll etc. More recently the title track was covered by Napalm Death. Second is the “Fucked In Finland - Live 92″ EP. The ’90s ‘Cimex was a little heavier, which might upset some of you but I personally dig this stuff. Recorded from the board in Lepakko Suomi, this also got Cliff from Moderat Likvidation on bass. Anti Cimex broke up in 1994 and today Cliff plays guitar and vocals in Driller Killer.
Jonsson (a.k.a. Freke) sang on several albums with Wolfpack.
I saw Charlie kicking the drums recently, he’s now playing with the Troublemakers.

A great band…
I did a tour of England with them back in 1986: absolutely raging concerts by Anticimex, full-on discharge blast…and a good deal of drinking…

Does anyone remember the guy who played that weird spring at the front of the stage (Nottingham Mardi Gras) with them back on that tour in ‘86? Cimex were of the most raging, intense live bands I’ve ever experienced. Napalm Death, Agoni and Heresy also played. Awesome gig, aside from Discharge the other week in Notts. A true return to form.

Anti Cimex was booked to play in my hometown Trollhattan back in 1985, but it was cancelled as Jonsson got arrested in Gothenborg. According to Smeg-Mats of Distortion Johnsson’s police record
even outdo GG Allin’s.
Distortion has been working for a while with a Anti Cimex compilation. Smeg-Mats revealed he have some pro recorded rehearsals from the early days.

Just a quick update on Cimex; Charlie just recently started drumming for Driller Killer and Jonsson told me he and Charlie and a chick from Disco Volante were talking about starting something but nothing is certain since Jonsson might have to have a kidney transplant done.
I used to have a tape of an unreleased recording circa 1985 (most of the songs that later became the 12″ aka Criminal Trap/Painkiller, but different recording, without vocals). They should put vocals on it and release it..!
