Nothing - Scream N Cry (Wide Awake Music) ‘79

EBAY
Winning bid:US $1,150.00 (Approximately C $1,313.07)
Ended: 19-Feb-06
Start time: 09-Feb-06
History: 14 bids (US $9.99 starting bid)

Absolutely KILLER 45 from NYC circa 1979. Not much seems to be known about this band. Word on the street is that quite a few of these singles were pressed but seeing as how it NEVER shows up (one is up on ebay and will probably break the $1000 mark) there are either a ton of singles in somebody’s closet or more likely in some dumpster in Queens. Oh well….. I know someone who on a trip to New York stopped by a record store and while checking out the New Releases found what he assumed to be a bootleg of the Nothing 45 (having recognized it from its inclusion on KBD). He purchased it and later realized that he was a proud owner of one of the most desirable punk 45s around. That story still makes my eyes bleed.

Tell your friend he’s a dick. But you rock for providing this amazingly cheap alternative. To recap: Kiyoteoo/Stunt=awesome…Kiyoteoo’s friend=dick.

the guy pictured on the cover of this 7″ sort of looks like the English punk rock dude in Abel Ferrera’s 1979 movie Driller Killer. Anybody agree?

Hadn’t heard this gem before, great stuff. Also cool story about your pal, that’s the kinda shit that keeps all the true discophiliacs going.

I know that this band shared at least one member with the Connecticut band Electroflex (who also put out one great and mysterious single).

[…] artifacts, though the hefty price tag far outweighs its rarity. Lay your ears on it here – http://www.7inchpunk.com/?p=194 – Scream N Cry is good proto metal and Uniformz is the real sleazy treat. Look for this one […]
