The Clay - Middle East Combat Area (Dogma) ‘84
Another great Japanese band that put out a 7″ and some comp tracks and faded into obscurity. I don’t really know much about this band except, this is a killer 7″. Any info would be helpful.

Tracks
demilitarized neutrality
fight for your rights

Holy snikeeees! Japan HC has such a cool unique sound that sets it apart from the rest of the world. I like the production here, especially the clear snare. Creative song structure, good musicians, fast. Niiiiiiiiiiiice! Sorry I don’t have any info.. I recently bought “great punk hits” comp LP but yes, my record player is dead…
thanks for the post so I can hear them here first!

Lets not forget the bands excellent 5 cuts on the HOLD UP OMNIBUS VOLUME 1 8″ sampler (along with SYSTEMATIC DEATH, GHOUL and GASTUNK) - pretty essential stuff

Band Line up :
KAZU - Vocals
KAZUSHI - Guitar
CHAOS - Bass
AKIRA - Drums

yeah, those 8″ comp cuts are pretty great. fast HC that isnt too far removed from the sound of the 1st Execute flexi, but with the speed of the 1st DRI ep. once i got the time to burn & rip from my Japanese collection, ITS GONNA GET UGLY FOR YOU ALL!!!

first heard this great slab purely on accident. used to visit a friend’s late-night college radio show here in Cleveland in the ’80’s and this tape was dropped in my car after giving her a ride home. thanks, Scary Ellen. still one of my favorite japanese records today. something about the guitar/bass sound on this is just menacing and heavy as f*ck! great cover art, as well. thanx for another great post Surly.
