Fearless Iranians From Hell - Fearless Iranians From Hell (Boner Records) ‘86

I don’t know the full story on this, as the members and info are sort of hidden. I hear it was a side project by some of the Butthole Surfers, with possibly an actual Iranian singing. Basically they’re an Iran/Muslim pride band, yet done in a time when the US was in a conflict with Iran. Seems like things come full circle these days, and a song like “Blow Up the Embassy” takes on a new meaning with the recent riots. they released 3 LPs also, which are compiled on CD on Boner Records, but for some reason they left off this EP. The cover scan is from my own copy, which explains the yellowing, but I can’t take credit for the rip.

My friends in Amsterdam got me into this record in the early 90’s. “blow up the embassy” is such a blazing tune.

In 7th grade I read a review in Surfing magazine of FIFH’s “Holy War” LP. I ordered the tape. Over the next 15 years I found all 3 LP’s on vinyl and bought them. But this gem always eluded me. Finally, about 2 years ago I was working at a record store when this beauty came in. The owner sold it to me for $2.00. I’ve never wanted a record so bad, and been so stoked to get it.

These tracks are killer! Dave’s commet above is right on. Blow Up The Embassy just shreds. Plain and simple. “I wanna kill a marine…” Very offensive.

yes, apparently an actual Iranian named Amir Mamori sang for FEARLESS IRANIANS. members were also in a great early thrash band called MARCHING PLAGUE as well as BUTTHOLE SURFERS. more can be seen at http://www.strangereaction.com/archives/2005/10/28/marching-plague/#comments which has the MARCHING PLAGUE trax as well as the most exhaustive comments section of any post i’ve seen…check it.

Good Texas hardcore. Been covering TX HC/punk 1976-2006 on recent Radio Schizo podcasts, this one will def. make it into vol. 3.

the other stuff’s good, the song Big Crime ‘89 isalmost as good as “blow up the embassy” i think it’s on Foolish Americans, but i recommend tracking down that CD with all the LPs, my local record store was able to order one for me.

Bought this record when it came out and really didn’t care for it. In my “Thrash” crazed mind, this was a bit too arty. After putting it on cassette and selling the record, I realized many years later this is a truly GREAT record. Thanks for the reminder…………..

These guys started a riot one time when the bassist brought down his axe on the heads of skins who were punching people in the pit with brass-knuckles…BONK!

These songs were definitely ahead of their time. “We’re the Fearless Iranians From Hell/we kick ass/wherever we go we smell!”

Praise Allah for the MP3’s!

Classic! Hard to say if someone could do this sort of thing in our post-911 climate. Maybe more of a reason to do so.

To see flyers from this band and other S.A. Punk bands(Butthole Surfers, Marching Plague, Mystery Dates, Raging Woodies etc.) from the 1980’s go to http://www.sanantoniotexaspunk.com

I purchased two cassettes by these guys some 15 or so years ago. That singer was always so pissed off, that you just have to love it.

Blow Up the Embassy may be one of the top few punk songs of all time. Truly amazing.

This is awesome! I remember getting the “Holy War” cassette with my Thrasher magazine subscription back in the day, and loved blasting it during the many skate sessions with my friends!
