Googol Plex – Nail a lie to the Counter! (Kigai Mousou Records) ‘85
Straight out of Hiroshima. A Hardcore Holocaust from these mid 80’s Thrashers. One of my favorite Japanese Hardcore 7″’s from the mid 80’s. Fast and furious extreme thrash. This rare 7″ displays the more noisy side of the Japanese Hardcore scene. Except for SOB, I don’t recall a better example of the genre. Hope to see more posts here of this kinda stuff, especially SOB & Systematic Death.

Tracks
give it up!
die for it
terror of the judgement
future never shows
no medicine can cure folly
have a sadistic dream
lost myself
nail a lie to the counter!

Pretty good, although I always thought the recording on this was weird (echo-y & hollow). These guys were also on “hang the sucker vol.1″ comp. and recently the whole 7″ was bootlegged on the “godzilla” lp (along w/the Brain death 7″ the Clay 7″& the Chicken bowels 7″)

Cool post……………………

Killer 7″, but I must confess from those early to late 80’s Japcore releases the first S.O.B. 7″ , “Leave me Alone” was the winner hands down in terms of speed and outright insanity. BRAINDEATH,INZEST,CONFUSE,GAI,THE CLAY,GUDON, SYSTEMATIC DEATH, DEATH SIDE,OUTO,ANTI SEPTIC,G-ZET etc all flew the flag high too.

I can upload a bunch more 7″s later this week when I’ve scanned the covers

That Googol Plex EP is from 1988. Kagai Mousou was the label of Gudon, their first release was the “Fushyu” tape in 1984. All stuff on this label is great of course.

a member of this band lives (still?) in the Boston area & was once trying to get some label to do a legit re-issue of this ep. this was almost 10 years ago, so who knows even if this dude is still there.

anybody else know anything about this??

all this jap-core being posted got me looking through my records to find an old all-Jap 12″ comp called ‘Virus’ (Jungle Hop records) w/- Systematic Death, Don Don, Lipcream, SIC etc on it…does any-one know anything about this LP?…I can’t even remember listening to it myself!…& yeah, I am comitting heresy by even mentioning something outside the 7″ format, but there you go…

I had the Virus LP back in the day. It’s a great record, worth a few dollars. I would love a rip of it. Great 80’s Jap core stuff.

That Virus LP was released in 87 on JHI records, i guess it was made possible by Roger of SIC and/or possibly the guy of Fuck Geez/MCR (forgot his name). JHI also released another EP with jap bands which the title is translated “Attack”, the bands on it are Sowhat, fuckgeez and 2 others, i think Fuckgeez had a EP on JHi, but not sure actually. I don’t know a lot about Jungle Hop, though i’m french, but they did released a bunch of good records. About Roger Armstrong, he was a US(?) guy living in Japan, before SIC he was singer for Dead Cops (with also 2 future members of the Comes), he also runned a tape/video label during his SIC days.

I picked up this googolplex cd on googolplex records a few months ago via bloodsucker records. The disc has a neat, piss yellow, translucent sort of surface on it….it is dear to me now. Ya the production isn’t great, but it’s a nice little piece of history. Japan hardcore kicks ass.
