DIRT SHIT - Rattenloch (Ratt Records) ‘79
DIRT SHIT from Vienna were my opinion one of the best old austrian bands (who were not so many of course…). The stand out track is definitely “Discoscheisser” with its energy, its strange electronic elements at the end and the lyrics sung in that amazing viennese dialect. “Exit” sadly has english lyrics - they do not really fit to this band - and the “Großstadtreggae” is one of the best anti-reggae reggae-songs ever. You can’t listen too often to that song, but the lyrics do well here by decribing cities that are deserts of asphalt, concrete and steel. The 7″ was recently reissued due to the high prices. It is also the only release by this band that existed between 1978 and 1980. Some of the members later played in KLEENEX AKTIV and their singer Ronnie Urini (you may guess what that means…) later did some solo work.

Good shit….. I had only heard “exit” from one of the KBD comps. I have a couple of the Ron Urini
solo records (7″s) put out on sympathy for the record industry label and they are pretty good. Never knew he was from this band………..Thanks
