Moderat Likvidation - s/t 7″ EP (Kuknacke Records, Sweden) ‘83
From Malmö Sweden. These guys upset a lot of people back in the day with some of their less ’sensitive’ lyrics (e.g. Anti Fag tape). This EP is the only vinyl they did whilst they were still formed. Later on in the ’90s the posthumous Nitad EP came out and reignited everyone’s interest in a band that was just about forgotten. CD and LP reissues ensued. Now they even have their own website.
Tracks
Nitad
Sprängd
Dödens Barn
Tio Timmar
Enola Gay
Atombomb

‘’sensitive” lyrics? Was it a politically INcorrect band? Just curious!
sensitive lyrics meaning that they were basically bashing gays in their song anti-fag.
I love this release though, one of my all time favorite ep’s. For some reason, I just really really dig their music. Partly due to the vocal style, rough and monotone with a forced effort to be melodic. The speed of some of their songs really shreds, yet their mid tempo songs are such memorable, great tunes. The ability of their bassist and how he’s all over the place during the songs blows me away. Gotta be one of the best HC bassists of the era, reminds me of steve youth’s “skills”. side note: i actually prefer the production of their songs on the “i thrash therefore I am” bct comp tape/cd re-issue to this ep. the high end noise is absent on the comp, so i prefer it, on those songs anyways. crank it!!!
btw, just so you know what I was comparing regarding my comment on production - i am comparing the production on the kuknacke cd release to the production on the “i thrash..” cd re-issue. The songs from the ep posted on this page sound great.
like 3/4 of that “i trash therefore i am” tape are fucking badass!..btw great post on this amazing band
definitely one of my swedish faves, tho they were unknown to me until the early 90’s. a really fine boot 7″ came out then with some different material & re-recordings of some of these songs.
oops perhaps the boot i was referring to is the “Nitad” ep. was that an authorized release?…anyway, thanx for the post! great punk jams.
Great band, my favourite hardcore basslines.
