KYOJINBYO - Black Current Hard Coar flexi ( Museum Label # 87931 / Japan) ‘87

Absolute raging NOISE mayhem from a still obscure band of “fashion/poser” punks located in the “suburban” Tokyo area.some of the most RABID vocals you’ll ever hear from a FEMALE screamer!! most Japanese punk collectors ignored this band while they were current cos they claimed that they were just a bunch of fashion-geeks. i guess thats even further proof that even the BEST bands are ignored by their peers,eh??

seriously; even though this bands name stupidly translates into something like “SPOOKY MONSTER”, the absolute blast contained in the wobbly grooves CAN NOT be denied!! Fully in the tradition of COWARD, GASMASK, Z, etc…they released a 2nd hard-vinyl ep in 1990(”Fukkatsu”), but member changes prevented it from being as special as this one here. its still fast & noisy HC, but not all that memorable…oh well…

ONE OF THE BEST EVER!!!

my next post will be of this bands FIRST release, which is a record that is claimed by most not to exist!! its a good thing that i have a tape of it ,though…

Tracks
Ra~Dead Lock~Hentai Z
Not Liar
Get The Crap
Sex
Extacy>
Koube Core
Opening~Destroy
??? (japanese title)
Busu

Great band! I have the Fukkatsu 7″ and I agree that this flexi is better. Plus check out that sleeve art! I’d be pretty dissapointed if a record with such kick ass art sucked. Thankfully, this one delivers.

The singer for this band is apparently dead now. According to Jun from Overhead Distro, he can see why, as he saw them play in the 80’s and said the singer was insanely violent. Something of note though is that Jun referred to the singer as “he”. Maybe “Margaret-Take” was not the singers real name? Or maybe those screams fooled him too becuase holy shit, that sounds like no lady I’ve ever known!

Curious about the first release of Kyojinbyo.I have a comp.7″ flexi on tape called ‘Ningen Omnibus’ with 4 tracks of this flexi and tracks by The Splash,Hard Les & Adenoid.Seems to be very rare.

This record has always alluded me for better or worse. Every time I couldn’t live without it, it was nowhere to be found for any price and when I
finally had a chance to buy it, I passed. Damn good and I’ll hafta agree with all…. much better than the 2nd. 7″.

Props to the WEDGE, great to see this posted!

Leffe, did I make that tape for you? Those Kyojinbyo tracks are very raw (and thus very awesome).
There is a CD version of the 2nd 7″, which includes like twice as many tracks.
Kyojinbyo also appear on V/A “Museum Tape ‘87-’91″ cassette.

Wedge, I still don’t believe the split with Dazzle exists.

Hello Stuart, yes, you made the tape with the ‘Fukketsu’ 7″.The Ningen Omnibus and this flexi were put on tape by Otto.Long time I heard from you.
I also believe the split with Dazzle doesn’t exist.I asked Otto from Selfish and he never heard of it and claimed it doesn’t exist.Same goes for the Mad Conflux 8″ that I’ve seen on peoples want lists.

well, the MAD CONFLUX 8″ does NOT exist, as far as i know. only about an LP’s worth of tracks on various compilations & the split flexi with JANKY ever got released before their singer got killed in a car accident & they broke up as a result.there was once an Adventure Family Records ad that had a Mad Conflux solo-record listed once, but it never actually got released as far as i know…

as for the KYOJINBYO / DAZZLE split… its what i’m gonna post as soon as i get back from Inmates mini-tour…i have NEVER seen a copy in all my years of obsessive Japanese punk collecting, but i DO have a clean tape of it, and you can hear, very clearly, all the horrible wobbly flexi noises in the background between songs. it may have never been released officially, or both bands were going under different names at the time of its realese, but there is at least 1 copy of it somewhere & i have a tape of it. ill post it ASAP.

whats interesting to me is the comment up above from Leffe about the Ningen Omnibus flexi. ive only ever heard of it & have never had any knowledge of the bands on it…4 Kyojinbyo tracks on it that are RAWER versions than this flexi,eh??? sounds like the “split flexi” tracks i have; but the names of the other bands…unless DAZZLE had a different (earlier) name, i dont know…

also, the “Fukkatsu” cd…what are the extra tracks on it? ive never been able to track down an affordable copy, but ive been under the impression that it was just the “Black Current” stuff as a bonus…any info would be nice…

Hey Wedge, now you make me even more curious.I didn’t yet rip the Ningen Omnibus on my PC,but I can give you the tracklisting:
THE SPLASH:Radical omanko/
KYOJINBYO:Opening/Destroy/Sex/???/
HARD LES:Slave days/I give you/
ADENOID:Not girl.
Maybe you can compare.

um, you have the record ive been trying to find. those are the Kyojinbyo tracks, and the band called “HARD LESS” is DAZZLE. ive always called them DAZZLE, cos i have the “Nippon Rentogen 2″ omnibus cassette from 1986 ( i play in a band that was on it; whatever) & there ias a band called DAZZLE who have a track called “Slave Days” & its the EXACT same recording as what you have on this flexi…the track “I Give You” is a AMAZING Zouo-influenced ripper…

seriously, this is the end of a mystery that has been bugging me for over 15 years now…are the other 2 bands on this comp any good???

oh, the song you dont have a title listed for on your comp is called “RA”

Glad to see that mystery ended.

About “Fukketsu” CD (17 songs): It seems not to include the song “Adenoid” from the 7″. It also includes seven songs with Yuki playing guitar, six of which appear on the 7″ in different versions (although Yuki is also listed as a guitarist on the 7″ sleeve). To my ear, these extra songs are better and closer to the sound of the flexi, but I think the CD/7″ and flexi are of comparable awesomeness. Unfortunately, the CD includes no liner notes in English or Japanese.

Also, I think the singer is a man, not a woman. It’s not like “Margaret-Take” was his birth name.

Finally, the two songs on the cassette I mentioned above are included on the flexi.

I’m not sure what the person was referring to earlier about “Ra”, but “Ra” is already listed, as the first part of track 1. The track without the title is probably best translated to “Poem of contraception”. I can’t get anything better out of it, and It’s hard to understand all of the lyrics. By the way, this 7″ is excellent, I’d never heard any of KYOJINBYO’s music prior to this.

This is one of the craziest records I have ever heard and is now one of those bands I have to hear/own everything by them. I love that ZOUO sound they have but it is still different in it’s own way. “Fashion punks” or not, this is an amazing record. Great post Wedge.

Yeah, obviously. I’ll inform the Polish, English and Canadian Margarets I know of their mistake ASAP.

As for the Kyojinbyo/Dazzle flexi, I have that on tape (courtesy of Wedge himself many moons ago) around somewhere. I’ll try and track it down if necessary.
