SO WHAT - blood wash the dead city 7″ (bwdc - 001) ‘86

Just thought this 7” , unleashed 20 years ago by one of Japans finest, SO WHAT, would prove a worhty posting on this board…
Unfortunately, I don’t know anything about this 7” other then this slapper happpens to be SO WHAT’s 2nd output (after their best ever (!), the INJUSTICE 8” flexi).
Unlike the aforementioned, this one doesn’t reveal anything about the total number of copies. No more then 500 me thinks, but don’t take my word for it…

Reliable info would be highly appreciated!

SO WHAT - blood wash the dead city track list

Tracks
opening-I
the flag of the rising sun
sorrows continliative

Fucking hell!!! I had never heard of this EP before!!

I thought they had only released an 8″ flexi (”Injustice”), a 7″ EP (”Murder”), a split 7″ with RUSTLER and a bunch of tracks on various compilations.

Thanx for posting this record here.

I know absolutely nothing of the Japanese bands, this shit knocked me out of my chair. Amazing power. Thanks for the post dust noise. I will definately be going back and giving a closer listen to the other Japanese bands now.

Released in 1985, it’s one of the rarest japanese punk record from the land of the rising sun, the band itself was monstruously great and played excellent raging music. I never saw it before today, good job!

first off : thanks to everyone who left a comment!
As for the release date : I assumed it got released in ‘86 ’cause the cover art (see image, bottom right corner) says ‘86. Of course, could be possible they finished the recording in ‘85 & released it later on…Whatever…(I’ve uploaded their first release as wel, the ‘injustice 8″‘ (which got released in ‘85 on ‘dirty informal section records’).

Another one that almost no one knows about, i must admit i had never heard about it before hearing it. But i had the chance to know someone who had it at this moment (he was selling it, back to Japan!). I remember he told me even punk people there didn’t knew so well about it, so probably released in very few quantities. So What came from Shizuoka and shared the same label as Deadless Muss, D.I.S. (Dirty Informal Section).

Yes, please post the Injustice flexi! I’m in the process of getting a copy of my own. Everyone needs to hear that shit.

It would be totally rad if someone could post the first Tranquilizer 7″!

Thanks for that one, stunt.

dust noise, do you have a scan of the inside fold out in its original size?

me thinks,
dust noiseI do. Should I use your e-mail address? Just give me the word…
(I’ve scanned this inside only once before & it worked out way better then expected. Those fold out sleeves are great to look at but not very handy on occassions like this)
P.s. : there’s one panel that I didn’t scan last time (showing the band members as completely opposed to the ‘rehearsal room’ picture, which is pure radness I believe!! No mohawks & hard thrashisng action on this one, just a bunch of hilarious dudes with layers of make-up on their faces. Pleasure overload ’till the end

A bit late I know, if anyone cares about the drummer Kurita he also did up to hyper-speed support drums for Noise Distraction’s astounding “Die A Peaceful Death” LP back in 1991.

Actually , I am one of the lucky owners of this record, together with the Atomic Bomb ep and the Ikkashinjyu Injustice III they belong to the rarest Japanes hardcore records ever ..When I was in Japan and talked with Shoko of Circledelic last year, she explained me that after 1985, the vinyl market in Japan totally dropped,… everybody was looking for stuff on cd etc.. Hardcore bands in particular had a very tough time to find a label that agreed upon a limited amount of copies to be printed.. Like the Ikka Injustice II , supposed to come out in 1991 and went away on Yahoo last year for a mere 650 Usd , again only 50 or 100 at the max exist …. so you know ..the rarity has actually all to do with the transition of vinyl to cd. Musicalwise I agree with all above , these vinyls are all japcore pearls, and you can even include tghe execute A-Z flex for that matter … But for me , and I know my japcore , the Systeema flex of Systematic Death really overrules the lot , it is rare, but not that rare as the above mentioned. Togeteher with the Requime demo of Sodom, the Systeema flex really show the quality japcore can carry ! Ni Hao to ya all

Purchased it at FLOWER RECORDS : It is a place in Tokyo, you really can only find when you are accompanied by some local punks… I would not even be able to find this by myself again… The shopowner decided to hire an appartment in some building and fill it up with records ..and I mean really FILL it up… there is almost no space to walk in this small room stuffed with recs.
I believe this is really to only way to find such rarities…
Cheers
