Rhaaa ! Polish HC, raw and abrasive the way i lov eit… their “Summmer ‘84″ demo is a bomb, remember the polish guy whom i get it from told me they were sort of DRI over there, not false… hopefully they weren’t alone making that kind of noisy fast thrash, many eastern countries had raw hardcore bands, despite the difficult conditions of this era.
Never understood how Siekiera went to do new wave after making such uncompromising noise, and why the singer became such a stupid brainwashed asshole.

Thanx for comments, as I remember when Siekiera was active nobody known DRI in Poland, they were sort of GBH/Exploited/Discharge over here. First bands inspired by DRI etc. in Poland were The Corpse or Nadzor and they started circa 86/87. And cool to know that I live in 3rd world, I always thought 3rd world is Sri Lanka, Afganistan, Guatemala or Africa not Europe.

Great 7″ and indeed their demo is a masterpiece.I got some copies of this 7″ for myself and some friends years ago from Nict Nic Nie Wie label.didn’t know this record goes for so much money these days.
Poland is not a 3rd world country,Surly, but an ex-soviet union satellite state and now part of the European Union.Most Eastern european countries are not on the same level,socially and economically,as the Western ones, but this is changing,although Poland now has a conservative catholic rightwing government.

fakir69, i discovered that tape in the late 90s, so then the comparaision with DRI was more accurate than GBH, but surely back then Siekiera were more inspired by UK HC bands. When i discovered Nadzor the comparaison then was more Cryptic Slaughter. It’s like here in France, Heimat-los at their debuts could be compared to early Mob 47 or again DRI, but back then they haven’t heard those bands yet, or were just releasing they weren’t alone making that brand of fast-core.

I think I’ll post SIEKIERA demo when punktapes.com will start, but I have some more Polish 7inches to post. By the way, when tapes will run I will find more great stuff from Poland cos many great bands like Moskwa, Karcer, ID, Red Star, Ustawa O Mlodziezy, Magister Z Wycieta Przysadka Mozgowa, Tabes, Processs, Brzytwa Ojca, SKTC, Trybuna Brudu, Nadzor, The Corpse, Destruktor, Insekty Na Jajach, Defekt Mozgu etc. existed only on cassettes and I have tons of them, also many great music from other ex-socialistic countrys.
