Negative Approach - S/T EP. (Touch&Go Records) ‘82

ok here we go with a real winner, this is one of those singles that really counts. this is one of the most amazing slabs of wax to ever come out on touch & go. if you dont know negative approach you never will. classic cover with really no imagination what so ever, but what you get inside is some of the most intense hardcore detroit ever had to offer. 1000 first pressing with black printing on the label, 1000 second press has red printing on the label.
i can not stress this more…handle with care!

I agree, except I would say one of the most amazing slabs of wax ever, not just on T&G! Forced to choose, I’s say NA are absolutely my favorite HC band ever. Another great post.

some of the nastiest hardcore ever committed to wax. Gives me the same feeling when I heard early Black Flag. Like a bad hangover….more please!!

One of my favourite HC bands of all time! The band I was in (Yuppicide) covered “Tied down” on our 3rd album - always a crowd pleaser! Killer post, thanks.

Solid, mandatory post, but you know, for all the lip service and reverence NA still gets (and deserves) Brannon’s new band, EASY ACTION is every bit as worthy and for all the kids that are supposedly in the know and up to speed on the old days you’d think they’d wake up and smell the coffee in the here and now. What can I say? This is an accurate observation..

Hey Peter - I guess I’m in the know, because I happen to like Easy Action. But EA is a different animal than NA, plain and simple. So if we’re talking HC/Punk - sorry, but you won’t come close to the “magic” of NA. They’re one of those bands that is like a moment in time unto itself.

Brannon is the man, though - that voice is as dirty as ever, even if the music has changed.

Agreed, this may be one of the finest hardcore artifacts you’ll come across, just for the vocals alone.

And Easy Action kicks ass - I still have to pick up Friends of Rock ‘n’ Roll

Can’t thank you enough! You’re providing an invaluable service to the punk/h.c. community. any chace of getting the Effigies “Body Bag” 7″ up. (sorry about the crazy font, don’t know what’s up)

John Brannon is the man! He makes salads at the restaurant across the street from the brewery I work at. Sometimes we get together and have some drinks. Easy Action rocks and they are a fine bunch of guys. Friends of Rock n Roll is a fine album. A vast improvement over their 1st LP. Check ‘em out!

Forget about schmucks like rollins and their angry/burning inside/steroid lovin’/poet bullshit,
John Brannon is the original/superior heart on fire vocalist. Still pissed after all these years
and lettin’ the world know via EASY ACTION, I’ll bet he doesn’t have any spoken word shows or book signings in the works. Hey Hank, why still so angry?? movie deal fall through???

the first hc show i saw was a mistake. i went to see james white & the blacks, but instead saw necros, negative approach, meatmen, violent apathy, and harold. for $3. brannon was so intense, he had a rash on his upper lip from jamming the mic in his face. i was like, what the fuck? it just blew me away!
