Battalion Of Saints - Fighting Boys (Nutron Records #bs-001) ‘82
this is a 12inch but come on it only has 4 songs…after all it was boootlegged to a 7inch, so i decided that its alright to post it here. 2000 original pressed, and the rest being bootlegs. the bats deffinetly had their own sound and a winning sound it was. first heard fighting boys at friends place in ‘82 and it was candy to my ears.

Tracklisting
(i’m gonna) make you scream
e-b
modern day heroes
fighting boys

I always overlooked this when it came out, thought it sounded average and slow (as in not
fast enough) When the second coming LP came
out I started to take notice and they became
one of my favorite bands. Years went by before this got dusted off and played again and WHOA!!!
I couldn’t believe I ignored for so long. Now this gets played regularly in my house. Too bad these guys (or guy,George Anthony) decided to
“reunite” in the 90’s with the usual shitty results.
nice share… haven’t heard this in years. thanks for reminding me how great it was.
yr blog’s been kicking ass royaly since you started.
big thanks for yr time, effort…
yeah I saw Battalion of Saints open for Stiff Little Fingers in the 90’s heavens they were terrible. Holmes was way obese and was dressed up like his teen self. Pretty sad actually.
SLF were on the other hand amazing! Bruce Foxton on Bass…
i could only imagine how terrifying that was for you…sad when this happens to such great bands, time to get a real job.
whats the point in dissing reuniouns?
bones played guitar for them for a time!
I haven’t heard this in a long time. Thanks for posting it. Some where I have a cassette with this and some other stuff of theirs. I think it was put out by Doug Moody. Any way thanks again. I Really enjoy your blog.
The re-united line up w/ Bones was pretty good, but seeing them with Chris a long time ago was awesome.
I remember seeing Battalion Of Saints play with Circle One in ‘83 at some club in South Central, Los Angeles. It was a dangerous area where a bunch of crips were roaming around but the gig was awesome. I remember seeing the Bats play again at the Olympic with UK Subs in ‘84 and the Bats played a killer set where the stage diving was insane. I went to see the Bats play a few more times in ‘84 but they cancelled out both times, once at Perkins with Exploited and then again at the Olympic with Abrasive Wheels.
