Abortti 13 / Pyhäkoulu - Lapsuusmuistoja split (Colditz Records CEP 02, 1984)
Here’s another treasure, Abortti 13 / Pyhäkoulu - split. Abortti 13 is just brilliant hardcore, they don’t have any other “officially” released material apart from this (one demo is around though).
Pyhäkoulu is female-fronted angry hardcore with some goth impressions especially in their later recordings. Pyhäkoulu made also one 7″ (that maybe later) and one 12″ MLP and one 12″ LP.
Abortti 13 were:
Tapsa (voc)
Jakke (gtr) (Kaaos -fame)
Maza (b)
Make (dr)
Pyhäkoulu were:
Saku (voc)
Pera (gtr)
Salvisto (b)
Kaya (dr)
Record is titled as “Lapsuusmuistoja” which means “Childhood memories.” Pressing of this split was 200 copies.
Tracks
Abortti 13 - Professori Balthasar
Abortti 13 - Suolia Saatana
Abortti 13 - Veteraani
Pyhäkoulu - Ihmisen à äni
Pyhäkoulu -Vanhempien Rakkaus
Pyhäkoulu - Yhteiskunnan Toivot

Thanks for the post, Mauski. Just wondering, is this a Greek record? Regardless of the country of origin, the sharing of foreign hardcore releases is one of my favorite things about the site. Real cool.
Finnish record, I’m 100% sure :)
Thanks for the great post Mauski! I really enjoyed the Pyhäkoulo stuff…And you are right 100% finn/suomipunk-Those finnish early to mid 80`s bands really knew how it should sound-Kiitos!
Another new one to me and a great record, all the hallmarks of classic Finnish Punk;rumbling bass, chainsaw guitar and raw as fuck vox..sweet
abortti rocks! i’ve heard Pyhäkoulu a bunch of times on comps but thought it was some psycho 14yr old boy on vocals or something…..makes sense it’s a girl haha. finnish hc forever.
I think “Pyhäkoulu” means something like “Holy School” (what we call Sunday school). I happened to catch them in the late 80s while I was visiting Finland. Pretty good, if I remember correctly.
Hi! Pyhäkoulu should be played at 33rpm instead of 45rpm (so it’s actually guy who sings in there)
Abortti 13 was correct though.
sorry.. I guess rpm is correct in pyhäkoulu songs, but perhaps theres been somekind of mistake putting it to mp3, like 48khz to 44.1khz. Anyway I’m certain it shouldn’t sound quite that nasal.
Bullshit. Vocalist is a 100% woman, and I can’t tell any difference between mp3 and original pressing of vinyl.

I don’t like her voice either, but that’s how it is.
Where can I get this album? Can I buy it? What is it like? rock?
I got this EP. I love Pyhakoulu, her vocals are amazing, the bass is bad ass and the backing vocals. Hail Finland.
