T.S.O.L. - T.S.O.L. (Poshboy Records) 1981

Sweet…this record brings back such great memories of the old days when you spin it it just make you feel all warm and fuzzy on the inside. One of the greats from back in the day as far as true California hardcore goes. When I hear this record still to this day it makes me think of hanging with old friends and just not worring about sweet fa. ‘Dance With Me’ is another worthy recording by TSOL…and dont forget Slayer covered a couple of tracks off this 12inch EP…Trun it up!

Tracks
Superficial Love
Property Is Theft
No Way Out
Abolish Government / Silent Majority
World War III

This record was at the top of my playlist when it was released. To this day, it is still incredible.

Ahhhh…..the innocence of youth. This record still sounds as fresh as the day it was released. I have found memories of skateboarding to these guys and actually first heard this record in a skatepark.

Funny now to hear Jack Grisham talk about the “good ol’ days” in the American hardcore movie. Beatin’everyone up, stealing kids lunch money and pipe bombs???? Theres a good reason I still hate jocks(and cops…same difference) to this day.

Great record though………………..Thanks !!!!

Great, catchy, early US hardcore punk here. I always thought this one and the “Weathered Statues” EP to be the best T.S.O.L. releases, even though “Dance With Me” LP is okay, too.

It’s a pity the original T.S.O.L. released also “Beneath The Shadows” LP, without it their discography would be flawless.

Have to admit that I also dag some their later rock stuff with new line-up, especially the “Revenge” and “Change Today?” albums.

PS. I really have to agree surlyoldpunk’s comment about this record still sounding as fresh as the day it was released. Some words of truth there!

ive been listening to this, weathered statues and Dance with me a lot recently, clever stuff from a bunch of thugs..also check the boot 7″ of early demos(1980) that came out in the 90’s,if i wasnt really hasseled at the moment by fuckin trash neighbours so much so,any down time i get i wanna just sit in the quiet drinking, then i’d rip it..

This is still one of my absolute favorite EPs, and was one of the first Punk recordings that I ever heard. I wish they hadn’t changed directions after this! The intro to “Abolish Government” is just brilliant.

This record absolutely kills. But I can’t believe 20 years later people still have the stupidity to talk shit about ” Beneath the Shadows” their greatest album. yeah! Open your ears! Way ahead of it’s time, maybe now all you jock faggot posers can understand what TSOL was trying to get at. I doubt it though. Jerk-offs! To the guy who was gonna upload the demos……YES~~~~PLEASE!

Although I’ve never heard this, I’ve got some interest coz I know I like Slayer’s version of “Superficial Love” just swell.

But I also remember when I discovered Suicidal Tendencies and did some mailorder with Frontier, I ordered “Dance With Me” and despite a cool cover and lyrics to “Code Blue” that talked about necrophilia, I thought the whole thing was rather boe-ring, nowhere near as good as the ST and the Circle Jerks and China White I’d bought from ‘em.

I think I saw ‘em in the late ’80’s, opening up for some band or the other at the Cameo Theatre. That, too, didn’t stay with me.

Great stuff still, yeah.

But I don’t understand INVISIBLE MAN’s burst of anger. Cool down, man. Back in the days I bought “Beneath The Shadows”, I didn’t like it and I sold it away. So what? You like that record and that’s okay. It’s a bit the same as with 7 Seconds’ “New Wind” which some people did not like at all, but which in my opinion is definitely one of their best ones.

But hey, I did like some of T.S.O.L.’s later releases with the new line-up. “Revenge” and “Change Today?” are good records.

Great stuff, thanks. Just been walking around new condo construction saying property is theft, under my breath.
